Penny Feder was born in New York in 1949. She completed her Bachelor
of Fine Art at C.W. Post College in 1971. She continued studying art, with
a focus in printmaking at C.W. Post College, graduating with a Master's
in Art in 1975. Feder has since been very active in the New York art scene,
being appointed to awards juries for local and national exhibitions. She
also holds positions as a lecturer on various printmaking techniques for
schools and arts organizations. Each of her images is individually painted
on to a smooth non-porous surface, and then, under pressure, is transferred
to the paper. Additional work follows with paint, pastels, and metallic
highlights. Penny Feder lives and works in the New York area.
